Discussion Question: SUSTAINABLE CITIES

The relationship between cities and climate change is somewhat circular: the activities in cities are a chief cause of climate change, and cities will be severely impacted by climate change. This complex relationship has prompted authors to refer to cities as a “battleground for sustainability” (Clark 2003). Cities are where the fight against global climate change will be won or lost. Can you comment on this statement drawing initial reactions from the quote cited?
