What is Responsibility?

Responsibility

Definition: "moral, legal, or mental accountability; the quality or state of being responsible" (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/responsibility).

Students have many demands: assignments to be completed, exams to write, and group work to coordinate. In all of these instances, maintain your duty to yourself and others by being accountable for whatever your role may be. Whether you need to manage your time more appropriately, ensure that you have completed something, or have committed to a task, make sure to finish it to the best of your abilities.

Responsibility is demonstrated by:

  • Accountability
  • Being reliable
  • Taking charge of what you have committed to
  • Not blaming others for your action
