What is Respect?
Respect
Definition: "an act of giving particular attention, expressions of high or special regard" (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/respect).
It is important to have high regard for your instructors, one another, and yourself. Respect is appreciating the work that others have done and not attempting to take ownership of it. Assignments or lecture notes that other students have completed, and educational resources that an instructor has provided, should be seen as the property of the author and should not be misused.
Respect is demonstrated by:
- Unconditional esteem for others
- Impartiality
- To honour someone or something
- To not act in contempt for others
