By the end of this lesson you should be able to:

  • identify key individuals and events in the American civil rights movement;
  • describe the goals, methods, and principles of the civil rights movement;
  • compare the tactics and principles of Gandhi's movement with the civil rights movement; and
  • identify themes from previous modules that are evident in the civil rights movement.
